The Flume Lantern is a continuation of the Flume Table Lamp, carrying forward the same inspiration from the gentle flow of water.
This version takes on a more lantern-like expression – easy to move and position, yet still powered from the mains.
The solid brass rods elevate the lamp both visually and physically. They lift it gracefully from the surface while serving as a convenient handle for moving or replacing the lamp.
I’ve explored two handle designs – one that flows seamlessly from side to side, and another that floats just above the top, allowing easy access to the bulb.
Which approach do you prefer – or perhaps no handle at all?
The brass rods have a satisfying weight and will develop a beautiful natural patina over time, giving the design a sense of warmth and timelessness. They snap securely into place without the need for tools or screws.
With the addition of metal elements, the design takes on a more classical character – yet it remains distinctly FlowForm, blending modern precision with soft, organic flow.
